The National Archives Seattle Branch (NARA) has census records on microfilm and sometimes it is worth it to use them instead of the online census.  They have naturalizations and immigration records, civil war records, other military records, and much more.  They have index binders that you can use to find the microfilm you need to use.  They have online access to the web.  They have books and more.  They will give tours of the facility and they present workshops.  They are right across the street from the Seattle Genealogical Society.

Click on Research Guides and Resource to find their Selected Finding Aids for Archival Holdings at the Regional Archives in Seattle:  Scroll down for the information you need.  They also give a link to their Archival Research Catalog (ARC) and more.

Order documents:  You can now order documents through their online order page.  It is a little daunting so take your time.  You will have to research where the document might be in what branch of  the National Archives (NARA) before you attempt to order.  You do have to register before you order but it works.  The PS-APG President can guarantee it.  She ordered a naturalization from the Fort Worth Branch (Texas) of the National archives through this program and it took about two weeks to arrive:
